It was announced today that a VOIP and VOD capable broadband distribution system was installed and commissioned at Macquarie University Village per an agreement signed just three weeks earlier at CEO level. This managed solution has been delivered to Campus Living’s 378 student tenants over the IntraPower next generation network, utilizing a wireless data tail over the last mile as the site is difficult to access with high speed data. There is no other copper based broadband solution available on-site. The village will be expanded to 894 rooms by July 2007, and there are ongoing plans to continue expanding to 5,000 rooms in coming years. The service, which has generated revenue from day one, has been provided to Campus Living by IntraPower and its suppliers, with usage being billed through Campus Living’s branded accommodation levies. Careful management of traffic and authentication is achieved using Visibility.X, IntraPower’s unique on-line management system.
