INTRAPOWER owns and operates a national MPLS (Multi Protocol Label Switched) Next Generation Network in Australia using leased unused capacity bandwidth from major suppliers (telcos and fibre owners). The low latency and high throughput of this MPLS network suits the demands of real-time applications such as Citrix, voice and video. All last mile connectivity has bandwidth allocation guaranteed on the company's STM-1 ATM backbone. This is provided as a product to all of IntraPower's patners as a Managed Private Nework (MPN)
INTRAPOWER's fully redundant national ATM network and the MPLS network provide clients with a secure and guaranteed MPN path between multiple offices and the ability to add additional sites as the need arises. In fact, Direct Communication via a meshed network design is an added advantage of the INTRAPOWER network since all a client's data is not required to pass through a single head site, providing greater bandwidth efficiency. This is particularly important in running real-time applications such as voice.
All sites have access to the Internet and to data backhaul services through multiple 100Mb fibre connections to IntraPower. This enables central control of company wide Internet access. Having Internet access housed at IntraPower removes the need to have a large connection at any one of the client's locations and hacking or denial of service attacks are restricted to this connection and will not affect traffic between other sites on the client's network.
Operating a true corporate grade network requires both carrier and technology redundant connectivity. IntraPower Pty Ltd provides all clients with both an "A " and a " B " path utilizing ATM technology. The company can automatically switch a client's network traffic between paths as necessary as well as providing clients with burstable bandwidth on demand. In fact, INTRAPOWER's commitment to full redundancy includes provision of connectivity via a redundant microwave backhaul facility between all major points-of-presence on the company's national network.
INTRAPOWER has the ability to monitor each client's manage private network using Visibility.X, a back-end management suite developed in-house. This suite provides total visibility into the network both to the client's own IT staff and to INTRAPOWER's engineers and customer support staff. This substantially reduces the level of support and equipment required by the client. Both the managed IP network and the dedicated Internet access are backed with a Service Level Agreement that provides each client with guarantees on the service delivered. (see Guarantees Below)
In summary, using INTRAPOWER's managed private network provides clients with key benefits
